Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since March of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the last five games to take the lead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first tour championship, took control to create a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
